Kim Delaney is an American actress who is best known for her role as detective Diane Russell in ABCs series NYPD Blue for which she won an Emmy Award. Her credits include All My Children Philly CSI: Miami as well as Army Wives. As the sole daughter to a senior executive of the United Auto Workers and a homemaker Delaney grew up with her four brothers. While she had a childhood goal of becoming journalist, it was not until her high school years that Delaney began to model. Following her move away from New York City and gaining experience in commercials in New York did she achieve an aspiring career as court reporters. Her first role as an actor was as a teenager as a child in All My Children, a 1981 soap opera. Delaney an actress in her early years in the 80s, has been featured in several films TV movies and in dramas. Contrary to her career success, her personal one is not as content and successful. The accomplished actor has been battling alcoholism and has had two divorces. Her custody in 2005 was removed from her.
